Effective September 11, 2026
This summary is here to be helpful, not to replace what follows. The full terms below are what actually applies.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to create an account.
An account holder must be the parent or legal guardian of every child added to the account, or must have the guardian's express permission to record that child. You are responsible for confirming this before you add anyone.
Children do not hold accounts. A child joins a family using a code you give them, and their access exists only through your account.
This is the most important section of these terms.
imdoingitnow records a child's screen. You must tell the child that their screen will be recorded, what is captured, and who can see it, before they use the product. The service is designed around the child pressing Start themselves, and it must not be used to record anyone covertly.
You must not use imdoingitnow to record a person who has not been told they are being recorded, to record a device shared with adults or other households where others may appear on screen, or to monitor a child for any purpose other than study accountability.
By adding a child, you confirm you have the legal authority to consent to their screen being recorded, and that you have told them.
Laws on recording minors, and on recording in general, vary by state and country. You are responsible for compliance where you live.
Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Family codes let a child start sessions. Treat them as you would a password — anyone with a code can begin a recording session on your account.
Tell us promptly at the contact address below if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
imdoingitnow costs $20 per month. One subscription covers every child in your household.
New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. We collect card details when you subscribe, but you are not charged during the trial.
Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins automatically on day 8 and your card is charged $20. It renews every month on that date until cancelled.
The trial is for new subscribers only. If you have subscribed before, billing starts immediately.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
If a payment fails we will email you, the charge is retried over the following days, and we may suspend the ability to start new sessions until it is resolved. Your existing recordings remain viewable during that time.
If the payment is never resolved, the subscription ends and your recordings and study history are deleted as described below. Keep your card details current.
We may change the price. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, and the new price will only apply from your next renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.
You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep full access until then.
We do not automatically refund partial months. If something has gone wrong, email us and we will deal with it fairly.
When the cancellation takes effect we email you, and 7 days later we permanently delete every recording and your entire study history — videos, snapshots, session times, durations and streaks. This cannot be undone and we keep no backups.
If you subscribe again within those 7 days, nothing is deleted and everything is exactly where you left it. After that it is gone.
Your account, your children and their daily goals are always kept, so you can subscribe again without setting the family up from scratch. Past sessions will not come back once deleted.
Recordings are in any case deleted 30 days after the session was recorded, whether or not you have cancelled.
Do not use imdoingitnow to record anyone without their knowledge, to harass or surveil a person, or for any unlawful purpose.
Do not attempt to access another family's account or recordings, probe or disrupt the service, or resell access without our written permission.
Do not use the service to record material that is illegal to possess.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first.
Recordings and session data belong to you. We store them so you can watch them, and for no other purpose.
We do not sell your data, show advertising, or train machine-learning models on your family's recordings. The privacy page describes exactly what is captured and where it lives, and it forms part of these terms.
You can delete any individual session, or clear every recording at once from your settings, at any time.
Recordings are deleted automatically 30 days after the session was recorded. This is not optional and applies to every account — if you want to keep something beyond 30 days, you will need to save it elsewhere yourself.
We keep limited operational records — account email, billing history, session timings — for as long as your account exists, and afterwards where the law requires.
imdoingitnow is designed to be set up and controlled by a parent or guardian. Where a child is under 13, the account holder provides consent on their behalf by creating the account and adding the child.
As the account holder you can review everything captured about your child, delete any or all of it, and stop collection entirely at any time by removing the child or closing the account.
We collect from children only what is described on the privacy page: screen video during a session, an optional webcam thumbnail, and session timings. No audio, no keystrokes, no location, and nothing outside a session the child started.
If you believe we hold information about a child without proper consent, email us and we will delete it.
Recording requires a desktop version of Chrome or Edge. Safari does not support the browser recording API the product depends on, and phones and tablets are not supported for recording.
We aim to keep imdoingitnow available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Recordings can fail for reasons outside our control — a closed laptop, a lost connection, a browser update.
We may change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you and you may cancel.
You can close your account at any time by contacting us.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if payment fails and is not resolved, or if we are required to by law.
If we discontinue imdoingitnow entirely, we will tell you at least 60 days before recordings are permanently deleted.
imdoingitnow is a study-accountability tool. It shows you that a study session happened and what was on screen. It does not verify that learning occurred, judge the quality of work, or provide educational, psychological, or medical advice.
The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows.
Do not rely on imdoingitnow as your only record of anything important — every recording is deleted after 30 days regardless of what you do.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to imdoingitnow is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost recordings, or for outcomes arising from how you or your family use the product.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect.
Continuing to use imdoingitnow after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, cancel before that date.
